aespa is a four-member girl group under SM Entertainment consisting of Karina, Giselle, Winter, and Ningning. They debuted on November 17, 2020 and immediately introduced a groundbreaking lore: each member has a digital avatar version of themselves called an "ae" (from the phrase "Avatar X Experience"). Their music weaves futuristic production with deep K-pop hooks and a cohesive fictional universe called the "Kwangya." "Next Level" and "Black Mamba" became defining fourth-gen anthems, cementing aespa as the leaders of SM's new era.
