ADOR
About ADOR
ADOR (All Doors One Room) is a HYBE sub-label established in 2021, with Min Hee-jin (former SM Entertainment creative director) as CEO and primary creative force. ADOR debuted NewJeans in 2022 with a strategy that broke K-pop conventions — releasing videos on YouTube with no formal press announcement, allowing organic discovery. ADOR and Min Hee-jin have had a highly publicized conflict with parent company HYBE regarding creative control, resulting in legal proceedings in 2024 and Min Hee-jin's eventual departure from the CEO position. ADOR represents the industry's tension between artistic independence and corporate ownership.
Known For
ADOR is a HYBE sub-label created specifically for NewJeans under the creative direction of Min Hee-jin. ADOR disrupted the K-pop industry with NewJeans' unprecedented debut strategy — releasing music with minimal marketing fanfare and letting the music's quality speak organically through social media.
Signature Sound
Lo-fi, jersey club, and Y2K-influenced pop with minimal production. NewJeans under ADOR blends 90s and early 2000s aesthetic nostalgia with contemporary internet-native sensibility. Songs are short, hook-dense, and deliberately anti-maximalist — in direct contrast to most K-pop production.
