Biography

250 (김민석) is the primary producer behind NewJeans' groundbreaking sound. Working under ADOR's creative direction from Min Hee-jin, 250 developed the lo-fi, jersey club, and Y2K-influenced production palette that made NewJeans stand out from all other 4th generation K-pop. His credits include "Attention," "Hype Boy," "Cookie," "Ditto," "OMG," "Super Shy," and "New Jeans." 250's production approach deliberately rejects the maximalism of contemporary K-pop — his songs feature minimalist arrangements, open space in the mix, and live-sounding drums that give NewJeans tracks an organic feel unprecedented in Korean idol pop. 250's work with NewJeans has influenced the production direction of several 4th and 5th generation groups who have attempted to capture the same understated energy.
