Biography

Bang Si-hyuk (방시혁), known as "Hitman Bang," is the founder of HYBE Corporation (formerly Big Hit Entertainment) and one of the most powerful figures in the K-pop industry. He began his career as a producer and composer at JYP Entertainment in the 1990s, producing hits for g.o.d., Lim Jae-bum, and 2AM. Bang founded Big Hit in 2005 after leaving JYP, and the company struggled for several years before BTS became a phenomenon. Bang produced many early BTS tracks and is credited as the creative architect behind BTS's conceptual universe and album narratives. His production credits include BTS's "Attack on Bangtan," "We Are Bulletproof," and early tracks from the "2 Cool 4 Skool" era. Bang transitioned from hands-on production to executive oversight as HYBE grew, but his creative vision continues to shape the company's direction.
