Biography

Hongjoong (김홍중) is the leader and primary producer of ATEEZ. A member of ATEEZ's production unit, Hongjoong writes and produces many of ATEEZ's most important songs, contributing to the theatrical, cinematic sound that defines the group. His production credits include "Fireworks," "Inception," "Treasure," "Answer," "HALAZIA," and many more. Hongjoong is known for his ability to capture ATEEZ's unique blend of epic orchestral music with contemporary K-pop production. He trained as a hip-hop artist before joining KQ Entertainment and his rap-focused background informs his production's rhythmic complexity. Hongjoong has spoken extensively about his creative process in interviews, making him one of the most transparent idol-producers in terms of how he approaches songwriting.
